CASK-LARM! Timothy Taylors slutar att brygga cask-ales!

Ja, tillfälligt i alla fall! Puh.......

Ytterligare en giftpil i mitt ölhjärta på grund av Covid 19, förhoppningarna att 2021 skulle bli mindre dåligt än 2020 kommer redan på skam.

För givetvis är det Corona (inte ölen, inte direkt i alla fall) som orsakar att Timothy Taylors tillfälligt väljer att stoppa sin produktion av Cask Ales. Deras primära marknad - de brittiska pubarna - är ju helt nedstängda nu. 

Enligt uppgift så kommer de inte att återuppta produktionen förrän tidigast april 2021. De kommer fortsätta producera sina flasköl, vi får se om vi får några några fler såna till Sverige under denna period.

Den svenska importören Jorvik Estate låter meddela; 

"Right now we have the following cask in stock from Timothy Taylors - 

• 7 x Landlord
• 5 x Landlord Dark, 
• one or two Knowle Spring and Boltmaker. 

Spoke to them yesterday, they have no plans to begin brewing cask again until April!"

"Tough times in the UK right now for breweries, I will be able to get some cask but nowhere near the full range. The larger breweries we deal with are planning for May brewing and hoping it will be earlier - most can fill a few 9 gallon casks for us when they are filling mini kegs for their increased mail order customers Essentially their businesses have turned upside down this year, going from 80-90% cask and 10-20% bottles and cans to completely the opposite for increased supermarket sales, and they have had to do this with less than half their normal staff levels, they are either on furlough or isolating"
